What counts as a machine
How the machine allowance counts collected machines and typed technologies, and what happens when you go over it.
1. What counts
- Every machine that has reported through a collector, until you remove it.
- One machine for each technology typed in by hand.
The allowance is for the whole account, shared by all its environments: Pro includes 50 machines and Enterprise 150.
2. The details
- A machine that stops reporting keeps counting. It is marked “not reporting since …”, and you can remove it; Ovesion never removes one by itself.
- A removed machine stops counting at once. Removing a machine whose collector still runs frees nothing: its next report brings it back.
- A machine reporting into two environments counts twice.
- Suspended and archived environments do not count.
3. When you go over
- At 80% of your allowance, the app shows a notice; when it is full, the owner gets an email.
- You then have 14 days to make room, with a reminder on day 7: remove machines, add machines, or move to a larger plan.
- After the 14 days, only new machines wait: they are listed as waiting and not evaluated, and new typed technologies are refused. Nothing already covered goes dark: every machine and technology already counted keeps its answers and alerts.
- When there is room again, the waiting machines are evaluated, oldest first.
Nothing is ever charged automatically. Only you add machines.
4. Adding machines
On a paid plan, the owner adds machines on the Subscription page: Pro in packs of 25 for R399 a month, up to 100 machines; Enterprise by the machine, R12 a month for each machine above the 150 included, with no maximum.
A pack added mid-month is charged for the rest of that month at once, then joins your monthly amount. Pricing has the plans and billing questions.
